APRIL 2016 Homely and clean nice rooms. both ladies very nice.
IStayed April 2015, really enjoyed my stay in Pilkingtons b&b this week. There was a lovely homely feel to the place, both ladies who work there were pleasant and helpful. I particularly enjoyed the tea and coffee facilities within my room- a mini jar full of proper tea bags and a proper tea pot! I was pleasantly surprised with my spacious room which had its own private sink. The shower was nice and powerful and the owner had no problem lending me a hairdryer. The only issue was that the wifi did not reach my room however they offered that I could use my laptop and the wifi within the main premises and arranged that I would be in a room with internet access on my return next week. Good range of choice for breakfast which didn’t take long to be cooked and served! Although the building itself is old, it is clear that the people running this b&b work hard to keep it to a good standard. Clean and homely, exactly what you would want for £35 a night! Thank you, I look forward to coming back next week!
3rd March 2015 I stayed at the Pilkingtons over 2weeks, coming back to the B&B was something i looked forward to; friendly environment and owner plus the location is perfect too.
November 2014 Perfect location - right next to the Station and Town centre, but no noise problems - huge tesco extra just over the railway bridge, Take Aways opposite if required, pub showing all the sports 100 yards away She was also kind enough to allow a later booking out as it was quiet.Perfect accomodation - everything is so spacious - even the bathroom, which had bath and shower and lots of room. Coomfy bed, and nice warm central heating, all the freeview channels and Wi-Fi. The only thing missing was a view - but at these very reasonable prices, you can't have everything! (I had a single occupancy double (room C) for £40 inc. breakfast
I stayed here for one night and certainly not disappointed the owner Mary is lovely and very friendly Lady she makes you very welcome. For £30 a night (single room) plus a full english breakfast with home grown yellow tomatoes and her very own free range eggs well worth every penny. The place itself is fairly old but very clean, and has a lot of history attached to it.Its next to Accrington train station and plenty of parking all free, enough even for a Camper-van plus cars. I had the single room it comes with all the usual tea/coffee and even a couple of plates with knives/forks should you want to get a take away. Rooms have central heating so nice and warm, there is also a TV with all the channels sky news etc. And what about this free WiFi in all the rooms, none of this paying extra like in Travelodge, the connection was good as I had my Macbook and mobile phone going with no problems. All in all this establishment is well worth a visit you won't be disappointed, there is a separate shower/washroom and or a separate bathroom all very clean, clean towels and Mary even provides small shampoo, shower gel, soap and body lotion.
